Crime Prevention

Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) – CPTED is a plan for manipulating the constructed environment, to create safer neighborhoods and/or businesses. This includes, but is not limited to, planting trees and shrubs, eliminating assailant escape routes, utilizing the correct usage of lighting, encouraging pedestrian and bicycle traffic in streets, and strengthening security measures. Studies have shown that the application of CPTED measures overwhelmingly reduce criminal activity.

Explosives Recognition

• Recognition training of suspicious person indicators involved with explosive related criminal activity.

• Awareness training of the following types of commonly used explosives:

o Improvised Explosive Device (IED) – i.e. homemade explosives

o Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED)

o Person Borne Improvised Explosive Device (PBIED)
